Goat Simulator 3: Where to Find the Drill Kicks (And Not Get Frustrated Like I Did)

How to Do a Burnout in Goat Simulator 3

Let me be real with you. I’ve been writing game guides since the days of printing them out from GameFAQs. I’ve searched for hidden collectibles in every Assassin’s Creed, climbed every radio tower in Far Cry, and spent four hours looking for a single Riddler trophy in Arkham City. So when I went after the Drill Kicks in Goat Simulator 3, I figured it would take five minutes.

It took me forty-five. Because I made a dumb mistake that I’ll save you from.

The Drill Kicks are a piece of gear that turns your goat’s hooves into, well, drills. You spin and bore through the ground like a caffeinated mole. It’s ridiculous. It’s perfect. And here’s exactly how to get it without wanting to headbutt your TV.

The Short Version (For Impatient People)

Go to Rad Resort in the Baadlands map. Find the glowing event marker near a large buried area. Headbutt the ground repeatedly until you dig a tunnel. Keep headbutting until you break through to the other side. The Drill Kicks unlock automatically.

But if you just do that, you might hit the same wall I did. So read the long version.

The Exact Location (With The Mistake I Made)

Open your map and look for the Baadlands region. It’s the desert-ish area with the dig site. You want Rad Resort – it’s a kinda fancy hotel-looking place surrounded by sand and chaos.

There’s a large blocked-off section nearby. You’ll know it because there’s a glowing event marker floating in the air. The game gives you a prompt that says “Blocked Out.” That’s your cue.

Here’s where I screwed up. I saw the blocked area, and I thought I had to find a way around it. I ran in circles for twenty minutes looking for a hidden entrance. There isn’t one. You’re supposed to go through the ground.

So do this: stand in the middle of the glowing marker area. Start headbutting the dirt. On PlayStation, that’s R2. On Xbox, it’s RT. On PC, left mouse button.

Spam it. Don’t stop. You’re not just headbutting once. You’re creating a crater. The ground will start to break apart. Keep going. You’ll see dirt particles fly everywhere. That’s good.

Eventually, you’ll drop down into a small tunnel. Keep headbutting forward. The tunnel is dark, but you’ll see light on the other side. Break through that final wall, and you’ll pop out into the open.

The moment you break through completely, the event finishes. The Drill Kicks automatically equip onto your feet. You don’t have to pick them up. They just appear.

Common Mistakes (Learn From My Pain)

  1. Not headbutting enough. I thought three or four headbutts would do it. You need like thirty to forty. Your goat will look ridiculous. That’s the point.

  2. Using the wrong attack. Jumping doesn’t work. Kicking doesn’t work. Only the headbutt. I tried licking the ground. Don’t ask.

  3. Going to the wrong Rad Resort. There’s more than one resort-looking area. Make sure you’re in the Baadlands map, not the main island. I made that mistake too.

  4. Playing solo when co-op would help. If you’re struggling, grab a friend. Two goats headbutting together digs twice as fast. The event scales with players.

Why The Drill Kicks Are Worth It

Once you have them, you can drill through almost any soft surface. It’s not just for that one blocked area. You can burrow under fences, surprise NPCs from below, or just make a mess. In a game about making messes, that’s valuable.

I used them to break into a locked building that previously required a key. Did it save time? No. Was it funny? Absolutely.

Final Pro Tip

After you unlock the Drill Kicks, go back to the starting area of the Baadlands. There’s a hidden cave under the main road that you can only access by drilling down from above. Inside is a collectible that most guides don’t mention. You’re welcome.

Now go cause some chaos. And don’t spend forty-five minutes like I did.
