How to Put Any Beats Earbuds in Pairing Mode
Connecting your Beats earbuds to a new phone, computer, or tablet starts with putting them in pairing mode. This makes them discoverable via Bluetooth. The method varies slightly depending on your model, but the process is simple once you know which button to press.
For Most Beats Earbuds (Studio Buds, Fit Pro, Powerbeats Pro):
This is the most common method for true wireless models with a charging case.
-
Place both earbuds in the charging case.
-
Keep the case lid open.
-
Press and hold the system button on the case until the LED indicator light begins flashing white.
-
Once the light is flashing, your Beats are in pairing mode and can be found in your device’s Bluetooth settings.
For Beats Flex:
For this neckband-style model, the control is on the earbuds themselves.
-
Press and hold the power button on the right control module for about 5 seconds until the LED indicator flashes white.
For Beats Solo Buds:
This newer, cable-free model uses an audible cue instead of a light.
-
Place the earbuds in the case and open the lid.
-
Press and hold the button on either earbud until you hear a repeating tone.
Troubleshooting Tips:
-
Won’t Enter Pairing Mode? Ensure they are charged for at least 15 minutes. A low battery can prevent this.
-
Previously Paired to Another Device? Go into that device’s Bluetooth settings and “Forget” the Beats, then try again.
-
Still Not Working? Perform a reset. For most case models, hold the system button for 15 seconds until the light flashes red/white, then release.
Once in pairing mode, simply select your Beats from the list of available Bluetooth devices on your phone or computer to connect.
