Except I walked right past the shop. Three times. Because I thought the ice cream mascot was just a random statue. It’s not. It’s the landmark. And the shop is tucked right next to it, easily missed if you’re running around headbutting everything in sight.

What Are the Propeller Horns?

They’re a headpiece that looks like a small helicopter rotor attached to your goat’s noggin. When you equip them, the propeller spins. Does it let you fly? No. Does it look ridiculous? Yes. That’s the entire point. No stat boosts, no hidden abilities – just pure, spinning absurdity.

But they’re one of the cooler-looking cosmetics, especially when you’re running at full speed. The propeller whirs. NPCs sometimes comment. Worth 500 scraps? Debatable. But if you’re collecting everything, you need them.

The Location (Rad Resort – But Not the Radioactive Pool)

Open your map and go to the Baadlands region. Head to Rad Resort – the ruined hotel area you’ve visited for the Drill Kicks, the breakable wall, and the radioactive water. You know it well by now.

But forget the big cannon. Forget the blocked area. Forget the green pool. You’re looking for the Adventure Gear shop. It’s a small vendor stand or shack, usually with a sign that says something about gear or supplies.

The landmark: Next to the shop is an ice cream mascot. It’s a giant, colorful statue of a cartoon ice cream cone or a mascot character. Big eyes. Big smile. Hard to miss – unless you’re me and you assume it’s just set dressing.

Mistake I made: I ran around Rad Resort looking for a shop with “Adventure Gear” in big letters. There’s no sign that obvious. I passed the ice cream mascot three times, thinking it was part of a food stand or a minigame. I even licked it. Nothing happened. Then I noticed a small vendor goat standing right next to it, under a tarp. That’s the shop.

Look for the ice cream mascot first. The shop is immediately adjacent – you’ll see a goat vendor with a little table or counter.

Step 1: Find the Vendor (Don’t Lick the Mascot)

Walk up to the goat behind the counter. Interact with them. You’ll see a shop menu listing various items for sale. The Propeller Horns should be there, priced at 500 scraps.

Mistake I made: I accidentally interacted with the ice cream mascot itself (some of them are interactive for photos or events). I spent a minute trying to “buy” from a statue. The real vendor is a live goat. Look for movement.

Step 2: Pay 500 Scraps (You Probably Have Them)

If you’ve been following my other guides, you’ve already farmed scraps for the Mental Mask, the Counter Gravitational Device, or the Manic Mechanic upgrade. 500 scraps should be pocket change by now. If not, you know the drill – photocopier duplication in Newtown. Takes about 10-15 minutes.

Mistake I made: I only had 480 scraps. I thought “close enough.” The vendor doesn’t haggle. I had to run off, break a few chairs, and come back. Don’t be cheap. Farm the full 500.

Step 3: Purchase and Equip

Select the Propeller Horns, confirm the purchase. The scraps are deducted, and the gear goes into your inventory. It doesn’t auto-equip – you need to go into your customization menu (usually the wardrobe or gear tab) and put them on your head.

Mistake I made: After buying, I looked at my goat’s head and saw nothing. I thought the game glitched. Then I remembered I had to manually equip it. The purchase just adds it to your collection, like everything else.

Are the Propeller Horns Worth 500 Scraps?

Honest answer: if you’re low on scraps and haven’t bought the Counter Gravitational Device (which gives you floating ability), buy that first. It’s more useful. The Propeller Horns are purely cosmetic. They don’t help you fly, dig, or fight.

But if you’re a completionist or you love the look of a spinning rotor on your goat’s head, go for it. I wore them during the “A Growing Population” event, and watching the propeller spin while I licked mutant seeds was peak Goat Simulator energy.

Pro Tip After You Get Them

Equip the Propeller Horns and go to the Hooferdome arena. There’s a fan NPC near the entrance who spins a sign. If you stand next to them, they comment on your “twin spinning action.” Small detail, but I laughed.

Also, the horns pair hilariously with the Counter Gravitational Device. You float and spin. My co-op partner said I looked like “a confused drone.” I’ll take it.

The Propeller Horns are a simple shop purchase – no event, no digging, no radioactive baths. But finding the shop requires you to notice the ice cream mascot landmark. Don’t be like me. Don’t lick the statue. Talk to the goat next to it.
