Love older you (English Translation) Lyrics – ILLIT
[Verse 1: Iroha, Minju]
Dear younger me,
Will I just vanish like a tiny speck of dust?
Like a puzzle piece abandoned on the floor,
Do you feel like you don’t belong anywhere?
That child staring back from the mirror
The one you hate more than anyone else
All those tears you never let yourself cry
Have carved an ocean deep inside your heart.
[Pre-Chorus: Moka]
So small and so fragile, mm…
Dear younger me.
[Chorus: Yunah]
In the deep, dark night, alone inside your room,
You would curl up tight and drift away to sleep.
Right beside your head, on the pillow damp with tears,
I’m leaving this letter here for you to keep.
[Post-Chorus: Minju & Wonhee, Wonhee]
That shining future is only one step away.
I’ll be right there waiting for you when you arrive.
Don’t hold it in it’s okay to cry. You’re doing fine.
With love, your older you.
[Verse 2: Iroha, Wonhee]
Inside that crumpled, beaten-up diary:
“I’m sorry I got angry, Mom.”
Always “work harder,” and then “work harder” again—
Sometimes those words cut deeper than you’d admit.
[Pre-Chorus: Wonhee]
Dear younger me…
[Chorus: Minju]
In the deep, dark night, alone inside your room,
You would curl up tight and drift away to sleep.
Right beside your head, on the pillow damp with tears,
I’m leaving this letter here for you to keep.
[Post-Chorus: Yunah & Moka, Moka]
Every single tear you cry will give the future you
A pair of wings much stronger than before.
I’ll hold you close and say it’s okay I believe in you.
With love, your older you.
[Bridge: Yunah, Minju, Moka]
Tonight, just let yourself fall into a deep, peaceful sleep.
(Dear younger me…)
When you open up your eyes, even your darkest heart
Will learn to glow.
[Outro: All, Wonhee]
Dear younger me… love, your older you.
Dear younger me… love, your older you.
Trust the you of tomorrow and keep on dreaming.
With love, your older you.
