내 기타 (My Guitar) (English Translation) Lyrics

[Verse]
At first, I bought it just for how it looked.
It was pretty, it was stylish, it was cool.
It felt rough, it was hard to play, but it felt right.
It heard all the words I could never say, and I just smiled.

[Pre-Chorus]
My sore, tired fingers.
It’s covered in dust now—I’m sorry.
Maybe I should open the window?
I haven’t even begun.

[Chorus]
Oh, my guitar…
Who’s going to listen? So quietly (La-la)…
I’m so clumsy with it.
What’s so good about me like this?
My love, my love (Ooh)…

[Post-Chorus]
Oh, guitar…
My guitar, with its faint scent of strawberries…
Are you even listening?
My fingertips tingle, and then—oh, it hurts.
My guitar, my aching fingers.
Ooh…
Ooh-ooh, ooh…

Alternative Version (More Poetic)

[Verse]
I chose it first for its beauty.
It seemed nice, it seemed cool.
The wood was rough, my hands struggled, but it was good.
It listened to every unspoken thought, and I just smiled.

[Pre-Chorus]
My tender, aching fingers.
It’s gathering dust—forgive me.
Should I let the air in?
I haven’t even started.

[Chorus]
My guitar…
Who will ever hear? Just a whisper (La-la)…
I am so unskilled.
What could be worthy in this?
My love, my love (Ooh)…

[Post-Chorus]
Oh, guitar…
My guitar, faintly smelling of strawberries…
Are you listening?
A tickle in my fingertips, then—oh, the sting.
My guitar, my sore fingers.
Ooh…
Ooh-ooh, ooh…
