Ahora lyrics (English Translation) – Alex Serra

(Verse 1)
Stop thinking about the future, my love.
Step by step, let go of your fear.
When you live from the heart, you live much better.
You’ll see life taking on its color.

(Pre-Chorus)
Don’t turn your back on your dreams, sweetie.
You’re afraid of losing your mind.
You just cornered yourself in your own corner.
Open your chest, feel the emotion now.

(Chorus)
And now… and now…
Hear me, my brother, I come to give you warmth.
Open your mouth, fill yourself with courage.
Don’t look outside for the cause of the pain.
Look in my eyes—I give you all my love.

(Pre-Chorus)
Don’t turn your back on your dreams, sweetheart.
You’re afraid of losing your mind.
You just cornered yourself in your own corner.
Open your chest, feel the emotion now.

(Bridge)
And now… and now…
Tell me, hey you… tell me, hey you…
Tell me, hey you… tell me, hey you…
Now stay alive, stay alive, yo.
Now stay alive, stay alive.
Now stay alive, stay alive, yo.
Now stay alive, stay alive.

(Outro)
I want to fly, want to fly,
Give me love, give me love.
I want to fly, want to fly,
Give me love, give me love.
Fly, fly, give me love, give me love.
Fly, fly, give me love, give me love.

Lyrics Meaning

This song is an uplifting, encouraging anthem that speaks directly to someone feeling trapped by fear, overthinking, and self-doubt. It’s a call to embrace the present, reconnect with emotion, and choose life and courage.

Core Themes & Interpretation:

• Living in the Present, Not the Future: The song opens with a direct plea to stop future-tripping and instead take life “step by step.” It promotes a philosophy of heart-led living, promising that this approach will make life more vibrant (“see life taking on its color”).

• Confronting Self-Imprisonment: A key insight is that the listener has “cornered yourself in your own corner.” This suggests that fear and anxiety are often internal prisons we create. The solution is not an external change but an internal release: “Open your chest, feel the emotion now.” It’s about vulnerability as a path to freedom.

• Brotherly Love & Shared Strength: The singer takes on the role of a supportive companion (“my brother”), offering warmth, courage, and love. The instruction “Don’t look outside for the cause of the pain / Look in my eyes” is powerful—it redirects the search for solutions from blaming the world to accepting connection and shared humanity as the healing force.

• The Urgency of “Ahorita” (Right Now): The repeated word “Ahorita” (translated as “And now…”) creates a pressing, immediate rhythm. It reinforces the message that the time to change, to feel, and to choose life is not later, but right now.

• From Survival to Flight: The song builds from a focus on “stay alive”—a basic, urgent plea for perseverance—to a final desire to “fly.” This progression symbolizes the journey from mere survival through emotional release (“open your chest”) toward ultimate liberation and transcendence, fueled by love.

Overall Essence:
This is a song of compassionate intervention. It’s the musical equivalent of a friend grabbing you by the shoulders, looking you in the eye, and telling you to breathe, to feel, and to stop being your own jailer. It combines gentle guidance (“step by step”) with urgent calls to action (“stay alive,” “feel now”), ultimately painting a picture of liberation that begins with emotional honesty and is sustained by love and courage.
