Aashaan | Sooraj Santhosh – Kunjikkavil Meghame Lyrics ( English Translation )

[Verse 1]
Little cloud at my window, don’t tremble and spill.
Don’t pluck away this heart, soft as carded cotton.
It can be wounded by a single feather’s touch,
Or ache from the slightest sharpened glance.
Don’t let the face of this tender child well up in pain.

[Refrain]
In vain… in vain… is all this sadness only for nothing?

[Verse 2]
Are you the sky, turning to dawn in the dead of night?
Or a flower, forever in bloom?
Don’t search the written pages for a thousand words of blame.

[Bridge]
Within you is a tenderness, soft and gentle.
Let it flow… like a dance…
Begin again, and stretch toward the sky.

[Verse 3]
Wrinkles only deepen grace.
They trace the shades of a life well-lived.
O face of quiet, constant light—
You are this earth’s own treasure.

Lyrics Meaning

This song is a gentle, poetic plea addressed to what seems to be a beloved person—or perhaps the singer’s own soul—using delicate natural imagery to convey vulnerability, tenderness, and a plea for resilience.

Key Themes & Imagery:

• Fragility & Sensitivity: The addressed subject is compared to a “little cloud” about to spill (cry), a “cotton-curled heart” easily plucked, and a “tender child’s face.” This paints a picture of extreme emotional sensitivity and innocence that is on the verge of being overwhelmed by sorrow or harshness.

• Questions of Nature & Identity: The singer wonders if the subject is the sky becoming dawn at night (a beautiful paradox, bringing light in darkness) or a flower in perpetual bloom. These metaphors suggest a being of inherent, cyclical beauty and illumination, even in difficult times.

• Rejection of Blame & Intellectualization: The line “on written pages, do not seek out a thousand blaming words” is a plea to avoid overthinking, self-criticism, or getting lost in narratives of fault. The wisdom sought is emotional, not intellectual.

• Encouragement & Transformation: The tone shifts to encouragement: “Begin once more, and try to reach the sky.” The singer urges movement, dance, and continuation of the inherent softness (“let it flow”).

• Aging as Beauty: A profound reframing occurs: “Wrinkles give greater beauty. They paint the colors of lived experiences.” This celebrates life’s marks not as flaws, but as evidence of depth, story, and radiant character (“face of a steady radiance”).

Emotional Core: This is a lullaby for a weary spirit. It acknowledges deep sensitivity and pain but counters it with reminders of innate beauty, resilience, and the profound dignity that comes from simply having lived and felt deeply. It’s a song that holds fragility and strength in the same tender glance, ultimately declaring the listener a “treasure of this earth.”
